The SMJFL Aspiration Bursary is an opportunity for students who have a vision for their future and are seeking the extra support to help turn their dreams into reality. Application for 2nd June to 11th July 2025

Singaporean students pursuing full-time education in the following institutions:

Any of the 3 local ITEs;
-
Any of the 5 local Polytechnics;
-
Any of the 6 local Universities
-

Obtained good academic results for:
-
Singapore Cambridge GCE ‘N’, ‘O’ or ‘A’ level examinations
-
‘N’ Level: Aggregate score of 10 and below
-
‘O’ Level: Aggregate score of 14 and below
-
‘A’ Level: Three H2 and one H1 content-based subjects of grades consisting of at least AAB/C or Rank Points of at least 65
-
-
NITEC or Higher NITEC NITEC holders with GPA of 3.5 and above
-
Higher NITEC holders with GPA 2.0 and above
-
Polytechnic Diploma with GPA of 3.4 and above
-
-
International Baccalaureate Diploma
-
Grade 5 in at least two Higher Level (HL) and one Standard Level (SL) subjects
-
and either one of the following:
-
A minimum pass grade for HL/SL MTL A: Literature
-
A minimum pass grade for HL/SL MTL A: Language and Literature
-
A minimum pass grade for HL/SL Language B
-
A minimum D7 for the higher MTL paper taken at the ‘O’ Level examination
-

-
Have a household Per Capita Income (PCI) between $1,750 to $2,625 (about 21st to 70th percentile)
-
Consideration will be given to applicants with medical condition or whose family members suffer from illness, and/or possess good records of active participation in co-curricular activities
-
Not in receipt of any other bursaries

Throughout the course of the bursary support, the applicant is to maintain their GPA (as per the below) or the bursary will be forfeited:

Universities (NUS, NTU, SMU, SUSS, SUTD & SiT): 3.8 & SMU is 3.4
-
Polytechnics: 3.4
-
ITE: 3.5
-

ITE Students: $500
-
Polytechnic Students: $2,500
-
University Applicants: $7,500

If you or a family member are facing unexpected financial challenges due to unforeseen circumstances, this short-term grant is here to support you. We understand that life can take unexpected turns, and we want to help you get back on your feet. We’re here to help ease the financial impacts and, help you and your loved ones regain stability. We encourage you to apply as soon as you can as applications take about 3-4 weeks to be processed.

All Singaporean students whom require immediate financial support arising from sudden death, imprisonment or illness of the primary or secondary wage earner.
